Reasons for Breast Augmentation...
By inserting an implant behind each breast, Dr Perez will be able to increase your bra cup size. Breast implants are medical devices with a solid silicone, rubber shell. The implant shell may be filled with either saline solution (sterile salt water) or silicone gel. The implant shell may be smooth or textured and the shape may be round or teardrop.
You will be asked to sign consent forms to ensure that you fully understand the procedure you will undergo and any risks or potential complications of your surgery.
Your surgery will be performed in an accredited outpatient surgical facility. Breast augmentation will be performed with a general anesthesia, so you'll sleep through the entire operation. Dr Perez will also use local anesthesia to help with the postoperative pain.
The incision can be made either in the crease where the breast meets the chest wall, around the areola (dark skin around the nipple), or in the armpit. In addition, a saline implant may be placed through an incision at the navel.
You should be able to return to work within a few days, depending on the level of activity required for your job.
Your decision to have breast augmentation is a highly personal one that not everyone will understand. The important thing is how you feel about it. If you've met your goals, then your surgery is a success.

With the passage of time and factors such as pregnancy, nursing, and the force of gravity, the skin loses its elasticity; the breasts often lose their shape and firmness and begin to sag. Mastopexy (Breast lift) is a surgical procedure to raise and reshape sagging breasts; it can also reduce the size of the areola (darker skin around the nipple). If your breasts are small or have lost volume--for example, after pregnancy--breast implants inserted in conjunction with mastopexy can increase both their firmness and their size.
Dr Perez will describe the procedure in detail. Scars are usually located around the areola, in a vertical line extending downwards from the nipple area, and along the lower crease of the breast. The length of the horizontal scar will depend on the amount of skin needed to be removed. Some patients, (those with small breasts and minimal sagging) may be candidates for modified procedures requiring less extensive incisions.
Back To TopSome women have excessively large breasts for reasons that are not entirely known. Large breasts can contribute to back pain, neck pain and shoulder discomfort. The skin underneath the breast may become irritated, and the breasts themselves are sometimes uncomfortable. These problems can often be relieved by a breast reduction, also known as a reduction mammoplasty. With a reduction mammoplasty, breast tissue and skin is removed the breast, and the remaining tissues are repositioned to create as natural a breast contour as possible. The procedure does produce scarring around the areola and on the lower portion of the breast, though the type of incision utilized can vary depending on the individual. During the consultation, the pros and cons of the procedure will be discussed, and Dr Perez will recommend the technique that will best address your individual needs.
Back To TopSome males have excessively large breast that resemble woman’s breasts. This can be secondary to a medical problem, medications, recreational drugs or have no known cause. Dr Perez will be able to recommend treatment for this condition depending on the size of the gland, the characteristics of your skin and the amount of fat present. Treatment could be liposuction, surgery or a combination of both.
