Eyelift surgery (blepharoplasty) is a procedure to remove excess skin along with fat and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids. Eyelid surgery will correct drooping upper lids and puffy bags around your eyes. Blepharoplasty can be done alone, or in conjunction with other facial surgery procedures such as a facelift or brow lift.
Dr Perez is one of the most experience eyelid surgeons in the Kansas City area. He performs more than 50 bilateral procedures annually. Eyelid surgery may be performed in our office under local anesthesia (You will be awake during the surgery, but relaxed and insensitive to pain) or in an outpatient surgery center, under general anesthesia; in that case, you'll sleep through the operation.
Blepharoplasty usually takes one to three hours, depending on the extent of the surgery.
You will be instructed to keep your head elevated for several days and to use cold compresses to reduce swelling and bruising. Natural tears eye drops should be used several times a day, since your eyelids may feel dry at first and your eyes may burn or itch.
Dr Perez will follow your progress very closely for the first week or two. The stitches in the upper eyelid will be removed five days to a week after surgery.
Keep your activities to a minimum for three to five days, and avoid more strenuous activities for about three weeks.

A facelift (rhytidectomy) will improve the visible signs of aging by tightening underlying muscles, and redraping the skin of your face and neck. A facelift can be done alone, or in conjunction with other procedures such as a forehead lift, eyelid surgery, or nose reshaping.
A facelift can make you look younger and fresher, and it may enhance your self- confidence in the process.
During the facelift consultation, Dr Perez will explain the procedure, the risks involved and the limitations. A facelift usually takes several hours, especially if you're having more than one procedure done.
There is mild to moderate discomfort after surgery and it is easily controlled with the pain medication prescribed. (Severe or persistent pain or a sudden swelling of your face should be reported to your surgeon immediately.) Some numbness of the skin is quite normal.
You need to keep your head elevated and still as possible for a couple of days after surgery to keep the swelling down. You should be up and about immediately after surgery, but plan on taking it easy for the first two weeks after surgery.
Back To TopBotox is an injectable agent used for the treatment of prominent glabellar and periorbital wrinkles that result from facial muscle activity. Botox paralyzes the muscle responsible for the folds and leads to smoothing of the skin. The effect generally lasts 3-6 months.
There are a variety of injectable soft tissue fillers available that can smooth fine wrinkles, correct areas of depression, and augment areas like the lips and cheeks.
The applicability of specific fillers to your individual problem will be discussed during a consultation. Hyaluronic acid is the favorite non permanent filler used by Dr Perez. It is safe and reliable. Fat grafting is the favorite permanent filler used by Dr Perez.
